Learning new words is fun and exciting because it leads to new possibilities and opens new doors to the world. Realising that there is more than one way to call an animal or an object can trigger wonders to a child’s brain.

Sure is! A picture or an illustration tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

Memorizing new words is a huge part of learning a new language. When a child can “colour in” the image using its own creativity and by simply looking at a picture learning new vocabulary becomes easier and more enjoyable, especially if your child is a visual learner.

Tips:
1 – Making sentences helps your child put everything they have learned into action. After learning a new word you can help them understand when and how to use it. But for the brain to remember this word in the future and to memorise it we need to use it.

2 – Repeat, repeat, repeat, “Repetition is the key to success”. It’s true. It is important that your child can practice a little daily. This will create a good habit.

3 – Be kind and patient with your child.
Learning Italian is a big accomplishment and you should be very proud each time they learn a new word.
